Upcoming Honda Cars in 2016

Honda Cars India that unveiled a slew of new cars at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2016 is now readying to launch them in the Indian car market. The car maker has plans to launch some face lifted as well as brand new models. While the Honda Brio might receive a face lift this year, we can expect to see the Honda Accord making a comeback in India. Here is a list of some of the upcoming Honda cars in India in the next some months.

Honda HR-V

This car is expected to be launched towards the end of 2016. Based on the same platform as the Honda Jazz, the Honda HR-V is a compact SUV model which shares several style elements with its hatchback counterpart. Honda HR-V has been designed as per the company’s ‘Exciting H Design’ philosophy, and comes with new front grill with LED head lights, a sloping roof line and sporty rear portion. The interior of the HR-V looks inspired from the CR-V. Features like touch screen infotainment, touch screen climate control system and steering mounted controls are to be found in this car. While in global markets, the Honda HR-V comes with a 1.8 litre, 141bhp petrol and a 1.6 litre, 118bhp i-DTEC diesel engine options, the Indian model might be given a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine.

New Honda Accord

Unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the new generation of Honda Accord will hit the Indian market in the second half of 2016. This time the car will come with hybrid fuel options. The Honda Accord new car will get significant cosmetic upgrades along with loads of additional features. On the exterior, the new model will get a larger chrome grille, new head lights, redesigned front and rear bumpers, LED tail lamps and optional 19 inch alloy wheels. Inside, the car will have features like a 7 inch touch screen display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

New Honda Brio

After the huge success of diesel variant City, Amaze and Jazz hatchback, Honda has now planned to launch the new diesel variant of the Honda Brio. The company is designing a smaller 1.2 litre, 3 cylinders diesel engine which will power the next generation Honda Brio. This engine will be a downsized version of the 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine that drives the Mobilio, City and Amaze. Honda might source all components of this new Honda Brio from the local suppliers with an aim to achieve nearly 100 percent localization. With the smaller new diesel engine, the new generation Honda Brio is expected to offer a mileage of around 30 kmpl. This car is also being expected to hit the Indian roads by the second half of 2016.
