The pioneer in utility car manufacturing in India, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched the 6 speed automatic model of the Mahindra XUV500 1.99 litre which is now available in W6, W8 and W10 models in Delhi.

Due to the government declared prohibition on vehicles with diesel engines of displacement capacity over 2000 cc in the Delhi NCR, Mahindra and Mahindra has decided to downsize the 2.2 litre mHawk 140 engine to 1,997 cc in this XUV500 model. This new engine can generate 140 hp and 320 Nm torque in the XUV500, although it does not come with the 6 speed automatic gearbox that was available in the 2.2 litre model until now.
